Self Catering Holiday Cottages

John and Jacqui look forward to extending a warm welcome to all guests at Culmore Bridge Cottages in beautiful southwest Scotland.

3 Purpose-built, spacious, comfortable bungalows set amid a peaceful woodland area. The cottages are furnished to a very high standard and are wheelchair-friendly throughout.

Within the 9 acre grounds, there are garden areas, wetland and wildlife ponds with protected great crested newts, woodland paths and a viewpoint giving extensive sea views.

The whole development is designed to be wheelchair friendly and will also appeal to all who enjoy a countryside setting, near the sea and beach.

The 3 bungalows available for self-catering holidays are Rowan, Pine and Willow Cottages. These detached bungalows each comprise: large lounge/dining room with patio door to decked area, 3 double/twin bedrooms, and two bathrooms, one of which has a level access wet room shower. Beautifully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washer/drier, fridge, full sized freezer, oven, low-level hob and microwave.

So much to see and do!

A 15-minute stroll takes you to a wonderful sandy beach and large dune area.

The nearby village of Sandhead has an excellent village shop, church, bowling green, Internet centre, beach area, children's playground, excellent hotel which does very good meals and fully accessible.

There is also a good hotel, and a new fully-accessible village shop, 1 mile to the north. The main town of Stranraer with shops and many amenities is a 10 minute drive.

The picturesque harbour at Portpatrick is a 20-minute drive and Drummore and the Mull of Galloway a 25-minute drive. Within a short distance there are many beautiful gardens, golf courses, beaches and secluded coves. This corner of Scotland is a wonderful discovery for those who have not yet been here, and for those who have, a place to come back to time and again.

What our guests say

The cottage was perfect, spotless and large enough for Colin to move about in his wheelchair. We had a lovely 4 days here and look forward to returning next year.

Had a really good stay - lovely cottage, immaculately kept - everyone friendly and obliging - estate ideal for wheelchairs - lots of wildlife - deer - stoats - birds - rabbits - newts etc. Would be pleased to stay again.

Great week - weather good (missed downpours!) Climbed lighthouse at Mull o' Galloway - oldest was 87 years. Every day out sightseeing - lots of adventures to do. Walking on beach every day. Accommodation excellent. Great celebration holiday for Isabel's 60th birthday with family.

Lovely cottage and local area. The welcome pack was very welcome. Great facilities and lovely & cosy when the weather was stormy at the start of the week. Some gorgeous beaches nearby. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Weather has been kind to us once again after a shaky start. Highlight this year was Sweetheart Abbey (near Dumfries) - well worth a visit in the beautiful surroundings of the village. Restaurant well worth a visit too. Thank you for your kindness and time John & Jacqui.

This was our first visit to Pine Cottage and to Culmore Bridge. We were searching for aplace where the disabled facilities were more than just disabled access! Pine Cottage fulfilled my brother's needs (and Jacqui promptly solved the one hiccup we had. Thank you.) We were able to relax and enjoy this beautiful place. Its Tardis-like spacious interior wowed us all and we really appreciated the cleanliness and all that was provided. As Graham says "FANTASTIC!"
